Internet split over woman who got beaten up by Spirit Airlines staff AFTER hitting him
DALLAS, TEXAS: An alleged Spirit Airlines staffer got into a physical altercation with a passenger at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport on Friday, August 12, and now the internet is divided about who was in the wrong.
Sensational video footage shared by Dallas Texas TV, which made the rounds on social media Friday, showed a woman engaging in a heated back and forth with an airline staffer. The woman was heard in the clip hurling racial and homophobic slurs at the staffer as she shoved him relentlessly. She hit the staffer at one point, prompting him to charge at her and take her down. He ultimately landed a right hook from behind before bystanders separated them.

"You done lost your mind," the alleged Spirit Airlines staffer is heard telling the woman while confronting her. She responds by telling him to "get out of my face" repeatedly, but the staffer does appear to concede. The fight escalates to a point where physical blows are exchanged. The situation is finally defused after multiple bystanders step in to separate the two, and one man appears to confront the staffer about "hitting a woman."
It is unclear what sparked the altercation at the time of publication. "Wild video out of DFW airport between a spirit airlines employee and passenger (via IG: thomasshannondp)," Dallas Texas TV tweeted alongside video footage of the incident. Text overlayed on top of the clip noted the date of the incident as Thursday, August 11, but DTX Daily clarified it was a mistake by the uploader and that it actually occurred on Friday, August 12.

The wild video sparked a debate on social media, with many speculating who was at fault. The majority appeared to empathize with the Spirit Airlines staffer. "I hate that he’s going to lose his job behind this when she’s clearly the aggressor," one tweeted.
"He did the right thing. It’s self-defense. If a woman shoots at you unprovoked you allowing them to walk away unscathed? They cause a scene you make a movie. Simple," another wrote.
"A LOT of women do this to men which is called antagonizing. Y’all be all up in their face and putting your hands on them as if you can beat them and then call the man wrong when he pushes you out the way. Keep your hands to yourself. Yall cannot beat men," someone else added. "Y’all girls gon learn to stop putting your hands on these men and expecting them to just be the bigger person. Keep your hands to yourself," another offered.

Others, however, felt the staffer should have walked away before the situation escalated.
"As a grown man, in no circumstance am I arguing like this with a woman," former NFL running back Josh Harris tweeted. "What does one gain from that interaction? You can only lose. Winning would be remaining calm and walking away."
"She was the clear aggressor BUT he also could have avoided this especially since he was at work. She used multiple slurs, that alone could have got her escorted out of DFW airport and possibly no-fly list. He didn’t handle it right," another Twitter user chimed in.
"I think bro had ample opportunities to walk away from her but his ego got in the way. He bears some responsibility for letting this escalate. Now having said that, you put your hands on someone, all bets are off," someone else opined.
