Speedy's tragic life
Speedy opened up about the horrible tragedy that impacted his life forever in the third episode of 'Queer Eye's seventh season. On April 25, 2020, an F-150 truck collided with the car he was driving, sending it flying off the road and into a tree. Speedy awoke from hours of intensive back surgery to learn that he was paralyzed from the waist down.
Speedy also realized that his mother and aunt had died in the car accident. He was unable to seek support from his relatives because the tragedy occurred during the outbreak. As a result, Speedy progressively lost his spark. He was enraged because he had worked so hard to make his mother pleased, only to have this disaster occur. Despite the tragedy, the Fab Five stepped in to assist him in moving on and feeling valuable again.
