From Meghan's powerful walk down the aisle to the couple's 'smooch,' remember all the key moments from the royal wedding
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally said their 'I dos' and the world could not have been happier. There were quite a few moments that made this wedding special than it already was. Right from Harry turning red before Meghan arrived, to the bride walking down the aisle solo, before meeting Prince Charles halfway to the altar, this was a ceremony that broke many royal wedding traditions.
Everyone had their eyes set on Meghan ever since she left the hotel with her mother, Doria Ragland, and the minute she arrived at the venue, people were in awe of her dress. Here's looking at some of the most special moments from the wedding which one cannot miss.
#1 Tom Hardy arriving at the venue
Tom Hardy definitely made our jaws drop. The actor arrived at the venue with his wife, Charlotte Riley and one could not stop and stare at he bald head the actor debuted. However, it does not come as a surprise that the actor chose to bid goodbye to his hair for his upcoming role in the film Fonzo in which he will be playing the role of Al Capone. Even though it might have been a surprise for many, Tom sure does know how to look perfect.
#2 Grumpy Victoria
The Beckhams are the one to watch out for. While Victoria did fairly well when it comes to choosing her attire for the royal wedding, her expression made us think otherwise. The model and former Spice Girls member looked a bit out of a mood. Could it be the weather or something else? Not really sure but we do wish Victoria had smiled a little!
#3 Harry crying when he sees Meghan for the first time
Harry and Meghan have had some moments where they have made us believe that the feeling of being in love cannot be explained in words. This is exactly what we thought when Prince Harry almost cried when he lay his eyes on Meghan as a bride. Harry could not control his emotions and we think he doesn't have to either. After all, it's his wedding!
#4 Charles walking Meghan down the aisle
Even though Meghan's dad Thomas Markle could not walk his daughter down the aisle, Charles was there to save the day. Charles stepped in to take the role of walking her down the aisle. The palace confirmed the news in a statement which read, "Ms. Meghan Markle has asked His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to The Royal Family in this way," the statement read.
#5 Speech by Bishop Michael Curry
Bishop Michael Curry sure does know how to keep people attentive. Michael took his time to throw some light upon important matters during the ceremony. Addressing the audience as "brothers and sisters", he spoke about the meaning of love and how is it enough to change the world.
#6 The flower girls and page boys
The little ones sure did not how to steal the thunder with their cuteness. Palace announced that Meghan would not be having a bridesmaid because she has many friends to choose from. However, she did have her special ones with her and they did look their best at the wedding.
#7 Harry inviting both of his exes
Harry is not someone who holds the past. Looking at how the Prince chose to invite two of his ex-girlfriends to the wedding, it gives us an idea about the relationship he shares with people he once had a relationship with and the type of many he is. While all eyes were on Chelsy Davy, who looked a bit annoyed during the ceremony, Cressida Bonas managed to be happy for the couple.
#8 The kiss
The much-awaited moment where the newlywed kiss finally happened. Harry and Meghan appeared on the steps of the chapel and shared a kiss before their carriage procession through the town. The crowd was all smiles and cheered for the couple.
#9 The royal wave
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry exchanged their first kiss in front of the guests and later, the couple hopped on to the carriage procession through the town. The pair will embark on their first horse-drawn journey through the streets of Windsor. People were happy to see the royal couple and Meghan's first royal wave makes us believe that she sure has some royal in her.
#10 Meghan Markle's wedding dress
Meghan's dress for the wedding was extra special because it represented who she is. Her dress was designed by the
acclaimed British designer, Clare Waight Keller. Ms. Waight Keller last year became the first female Artistic Director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy. At the same time, her veil represented the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition.
#11 Meghan Markle's mother crying
Seeing your daughter walk down the aisle is a big moment for any parent and luckily for Doria Ragland, she could be there to see Meghan tie the knot. However, she could not stop herself from shedding a few tears and show how special the moment meant for her.
