'Southern Charm's Ashley Jacobs, 35, reveals new boyfriend 'close to her age' after split with Thomas Ravanel, 57
Ashley Jacobs had joined the cast of Bravo's 'Southern Charm' as the girlfriend of Thomas Ravanel after he split up with Kathryn Dennis.
However, Jacobs and Ravanel ended up breaking up in 2018 in August after dating for a year. It looks like Jacobs has found love again and the reality TV star took to social media to share the news. The 35-year-old went public with her new flame, Mike Appel, on Monday via a picture that she had shared on her Instagram wishing him a 'happy birthday'.
The picture features Jacobs sporting a pale blue halter jumpsuit and cozying with Appel on an evening out. She had captioned the image, "Found someone close to my own age!! And our birthdays are just a day a part! Happy birthday to this cutie♥️ Thanks for making me smile!!"
Appel co-founded undergarment brand 'Related Garments' which sells matching sets of socks and underwear. Earlier in July, Jacobs had opened up to Entertainment Tonight about her relationship with 57-year-old Ravanel and had described it as being a 'dark' period in her life.
At the time, she had shared, "I lost a lot of weight. I wasn’t taking care of myself mentally. I suffered from depression. It was extremely lonely because I didn’t have the support of my family, they were very disappointed in my decision." Jacobs and Ravanel had got together in 2017 and had made headlines after Jacobs made very critical comments about Ravanel's ex, Kathryn.
She eventually apologized for her actions on social media. On the other hand, Ravanel and Dennis reached an agreement over the custody of their children post a three-year-long battle. They will share joint legal and physical custody of their daughter, 5, and son, 3. Back in September, Ravanel had pleaded guilty to third-degree assault and battery after being accused of rape by the family's ex-nanny. He was fined $500 and was not jailed.
