Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have expressed concern over their friend Sophie Trudeau after the first lady of Canada tested positive for coronavirus on the night of March 12.

Sophie Trudeau was diagnosed with the virus after showing mild symptoms, following her return from London.

The official statement released by Trudeau’s office read, “Following medical recommendations, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau was tested for COVID-19 today. The test came back positive.”

She has remained in isolation since then along with prime minister Justin Trudeau, although he has not been asked to undergo the test for coronavirus yet.

Meanwhile, Meghan and Harry have expressed their concern over the growing pandemic and the recent diagnosis of Sophie Trudeau who they are close friends with, reports Page Six

A source close to Meghan and Harry said, “Right now Meghan and Harry are just concerned for the health and safety of others. These are scary times and they are more worried about what is happening in the world than what’s next for them.”

Trudeau’s office trough a statement has confirmed that Sophie is feeling well and “is taking all the recommended precautions and her symptoms remain mild”.

Sophie herself shared a message which read, “Although I’m experiencing uncomfortable symptoms of the virus, I will be back on my feet soon”.

It has been reported that Sophie started feeling sick shortly after returning from a London speaking engagement. However, it is yet to be known if she met with Meghan and Harry who are home for the royal farewell tour.

Thanking everyone who has been reaching out to inquire about her health and sharing her experience of fighting coronavirus, Sophie shared, “Being in quarantine at home is nothing compared to other Canadian families who might be going through this and for those facing more serious health concerns.”

“We will get through this situation together. Please share the facts and take your health seriously. I send you all my courage and warm thoughts (but only ‘get better’ hugs from afar!),” she further added.
