LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In 2018, Sony Pictures took the world by storm with the epic animation movie ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and became the highest-rated movie based on the aforementioned comic-book character. So, it didn’t come as a shock when the makers announced that they are going to turn this ‘Spider-Verse’ story into a franchise and revealed their plans. The second movie in the series, titled ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’, is set to enthrall viewers in June 2023 and Sony is leaving no stone unturned to make this movie bigger than the first one.

The production giant recently unveiled a new clip from ‘Across the Spider-Verse’ and made fans excited for the upcoming film. The clip begins with all the variants of the superhero pointing at each other after hearing that an alarm went off. It is revealed that Miles Morales has reached Sector 4 of the Multiverse. Chaos ensues in the Multiverse as soon as they all see Morales. A fight takes place between all the variants and they all want to get rid of Morales as soon as possible. Not all of the Spideys seen in the clip are human, with both the dinosaur and cat variants at different points of the clip.

Morales tries escaping the 'Dinosaur' variant of Spidey

The clip features the ‘Dinosaur’ variant, Spider-Rex, of the superhero that gets very close to eating Morales. The video ends with another variant of Spider-Man talking to a therapist as Miles tries to escape Spider-Rex.

Social media had a lot to say about the clip and even though a lot of people were happy with the new variants of Spider-Man, there were several people who didn’t get much excited.

'This doesn't impress me the slightest!'

One of the social media users wrote, “I have a feeling this will be nowhere near as good as the first film.” Another social media user tweeted, “Meh this doesn't impress me in the slightest.” Another social media user tweeted, “All this just to flop in the box office.”

On the other hand, there were those who slammed Sony for posting too many clips on social media. One of the users wrote, “Y’all gonna show us the whole damn movie at this rate. I’ve seen 5 different clips over the weekend.” Another social media user tweeted, “I have now watched the entire film through these clips.” Another user wrote, “They’re spoiling a lot ngl.”

By the looks of the aforementioned tweets, it is quite evident that fans are a little skeptical about the sequel and don’t want Sony to spoil the movie by sharing new clips from the movie.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, “Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.”

Many members of the cast of the first film are returning for the sequel, including Shameik Moore (Miles Morales) and Hailee Steinfeld (Gwen Stacy).

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023.
