Sofia Richie felt intimidated by Scott Disick's ex Kourtney Kardashian on their family ski-vacation in Aspen
Sofia Richie may have partied and vacationed with her boyfriend Scott Disick and his ex, Kourtney Kardashian, but it seems that the young daughter of musician Lionel Richie still feels nervous and intimidated by Kourtney, as per a new report.
Sofia recently joined the entire Kardashian clan for their annual Christmas Eve party, and a few days later, she left with Scott and Kourtney, and their three children, for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
She also joined Kourtney and Kim's family on their ski-vacation to Aspen, where they celebrated New Year's Eve. However, it has been revealed that Sofia was quite nervous about going on the Kardashian family's ski trip, and the reason was, of course, Kourtney.
“Sofia still had a few feelings of anxiety as she joined Scott with the entire Kardashian family on their vacation to Aspen,” a source close to the 20-year-old model said. The same source continued, “Although Sofia is starting to feel more comfortable with Kourtney, and even attended their holiday party, she couldn’t help but feel a bit intimidated spending one-on-one time with their whole family."
Unlike Sofia's Cabo trip, which only had Kourtney, Scott, and their three kids, the Aspen trip saw Kourtney's other family members like Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, their three children, and Kendall Jenner accompany them on the fun-filled wintery vacation. But unfortunately for Sofia, her favorite sister, Kylie Jenner, did not attend the trip.
“Sofia had hoped Kylie was going to be on the trip too since they’ve been friends for a long time, which would’ve made her feel a bit more comfortable,” the insider revealed. “However, Sofia did appreciate Scott taking some time away from the whole family to spend alone time with her,” the source continued, adding that “those were some of her favorite moments in Aspen.”
But all things aside, Sofia admits that she really had a blast with Scott and the KarJenner clan over the holiday season. And that is quite a turn of events, for the entire Kardashian-Jenner clan was against Scott dating the model when the duo first got together in 2017. “This time last year, Sofia never imagined she’d be included in the holiday celebrations and vacations with the Kardashian family this time around,” the source explained.
“Sofia felt she has gone above and beyond to try to bridge the gap between her and Kourtney and it’s finally paid off. Sofia has shown Kourtney how much she cares about her kids, and about Scott.” The drastic change has come about after Kourtney started to warm up to Sofia, considering she wants "a normal life" for her children — Mason, Penelope, and Reign. But still, it’s just the beginning for Sofia and Kourtney’s friendship.
“Their relationship is new and developing, so it will still take some time for Kourtney and Sofia to feel entirely comfortable hanging out with each other,” the same source went on to explain. “But they’re both determined to leave the negativity behind in the new year and show they’re mature enough to all get along.”
