Bette Midler calls for ban on Viagra in US as it’s 'God’s will', Internet says 'mandatory vasectomies'
Bette Midler has called for a ban on viagra in the US in response to the Supreme Court's decision to strike down the nation's abortion laws. The actor, singer, and comedian recently expressed her displeasure with the recent Roe v. Wade reversal on social media. She tweeted, mocking the logic of the court’s verdict, “Time to ban Viagra. Because if pregnancy is ‘God’s will’, then so is your limp dick.”
Many on social media praised Midler’s comment as one person wrote, “I love it. The Republican limp dickk party.” “Couldn’t have said it better myself,” another user added. Someone wrote, “And if it’s so important and so righteous to regulate women’s bodies, let’s start regulating men’s bodies too. Mandatory vasectomies!” "Men do not have to worry about, and abide by, the consequences of a 'quickie' or having sex. Only women are forced to carry that burden for a lifetime or they face having committed a crime. The real crime is that men and women are not equal in their rights,” yet another person remarked.

However, not everyone was so supportive and many have mocked Midler’s tweet. One person wrote, “The answer is plain and simple don't have quickie sex. Find a man who wants to be with you for more than sex. It isn't rocket science.” “Or you can just be responsible and not have sex until you're ready to at least risk becoming pregnant,” another user added. “According to this logic I guess we shouldn’t put food into our mouths cause it’ll be God's will that we starve 🤷♀️” yet another person remarked.
People were understandably furious when a draft of a Supreme Court decision from back in May showed that the SCOTUS intended to vote to overturn Roe v. Wade. Roe v. Wade was overturned on June 24, 2022. Midler has previously expressed her disapproval of the Supreme Court's decision to eliminate American women's constitutional right to safe abortions. On Friday, June 24, after the decision, Midler tweeted, “They did it. THEY DID IT TO US! #SCOTUS has overturned #RoevWade, enshrined in the Constitution as settled law for over 50 years. How dare they? This #SCOTUS is absolutely tone-deaf to the will and even the actual needs of the American people. #WakeUpAmerica”.

Many famous people have followed Midler in speaking out against the Supreme Court's decision, with Maya Hawke of 'Stranger Things' recently disclosing her family's abortion-related background. “My mom [Uma Thurman] wrote this really beautiful essay about her abortion that she got when she was really young, and about how if she hadn’t have had it, she wouldn’t have become the person that she’d become, and I wouldn’t exist, and how both of my parent's lives would’ve been totally derailed if she hadn’t had access to safe and legal health care – fundamental health care,” she said while appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, according to The Wrap.

“Of course, wealthy people will always be able to get abortions, but so many people, because of this ruling this week, will not only not be able to pursue their dreams, but actually lose their lives and be unsafe. And I just wanted to say that, like, fuck the Supreme Court,” Maya added. According to Billboard, Pop artist and actress Selena Gomez has also urged males to ‘stand up’ against the US Supreme Court's decision and shared details on how the public can do so.
