Janelle is over it!: 'Sister Wives' star Kody Brown's family shook after another 'marriage' collapses

In the clip, which aired following the reality show's 17th season finale, Kody Brown, 53, told host Sukanya Krishnan, 'Yes, we are separated'

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: A new teaser clip of the TLC series 'Sister Wives: One-on-One' special revealed that Janelle Brown has been separated from Kody Brown "for several months." Brown's polygamist family has been shaken to their core after finding out that another of his "marriage" has collapsed after many years.  

"I think if we both really sat down, we'd look at each other say, 'Really?"' said Janelle, 53, in the clip, adding, "We've been separated for several months." In the clip, which aired following the reality show's 17th season finale, Kody, 53, told host Sukanya Krishnan, "Yes, we are separated." Kody, who entered into a spiritual marriage with Janelle in 1993, said, "Janelle has made it pretty clear to me that she's enjoying her life without me." Moreover, Kody claims that Janelle has never been on his side, while Janelle feels like her children are not welcome.

Kody and Janelle are parents to six children, Logan, 28, Madison, 27, Hunter, 25, Garrison, 24, Gabriel, 21, and Savannah, 17. Initially Christine Brown, 50, revealed more than a year ago in November 2021 that the pair had parted ways after a 25-year-plus relationship. "For Janelle, I think she's frustrated and she's so hurt and I think that man that she was married to, she realizes that he's totally different, but she's different too," she said of the latest clip. The separation between Janelle and Kody comes after Kody said that Janelle had never been on his side at the end of the tension-fraught season.

While Janelle is believed to be upset with Kody over a residual tension between him and multiple children over the strict protocols he put in place amid the coronavirus pandemic. "It's been a bit of a civil war," Kody said on the episode. "The whole family in a way. I'm looking at Janelle wondering whose side she's on," he added, according to Daily Mail.

As for Janelle, she told Kody, Meri 50, and Robyn, 43, that she didn't feel like her "children are welcome." She added, "To be honest with you, I really don't know if I want to do the work; it feels like I'm being forced to choose between my children and this group." She told Kody she would "rather be with [her] kids" and told the group that "there's a strong pull to just run away and do the easy thing."

Netizens are celebrating Janelle and Kody's separation, with one user tweeting, "SEVERAL MONTHS!!! Yassss Janelle!!!!" Another added, "Baby, Janelle is OVER IT! Girl, when are you leaving him because I’ll come help you pack #SisterWives #SisterWivesTLC."

A user remarked, "Y'all look at Janelle looking fine like wine after losing a husband and the other weight! #SisterWives." A tweet read, "It was sad, heartbreaking but totally revealing when the one son cried that Kody didn’t remember his birthday but obsessed with his Covid sickness. Self centered, narcissistic….such an unhealthy family dynamic…"
