Single dad Brad Pitt likes to 'cook with his kids and watch movies' after gaining joint custody with Angelina Jolie
It was back in November last year that Brad Pitt was granted joint custody of his six children with former wife Angelina Jolie, whom he split from in 2016. The couple share Maddox, 17, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 10, between them.
According to a new report from US Weekly, the 55-year-old actor has settled in nicely to his new role as a single dad. The publication further revealed details of his time with the children, noting he often cooks for them and they watch movies together at his home near Hollywood.
"They do simple things like cook or watch movies," a source told the media outlet. "He encourages them to pursue their hobbies," the source shared. "They love to hang out and talk. Brad talks to them about whatever is on their minds — he’s a great listener."
Moreover, the 'Troy' actor is also attending therapy and is "relieved that co-parenting is going well."
"He’s grateful that all the animosity is in the past," the source added. "[The kids] come first. That’s what he’s most excited about — being a dad and sharing his life with his children."
As per reports, the estranged couple's six children have lately been spending a lot of time in New Mexico where Jolie is filming her latest movie, 'Those Who Wish Me Dead'.
The kids will reportedly travel back and forth between New Mexico and Los Angeles to visit their father. It is also being said that Pitt himself plans to spend some time out in New Mexico with the family as well. According to reports, the 'Kung Fu Panda' actress is reportedly is taking on long days on set.
"Angelina has been trying to spend as much time with her children as possible while working grueling 12-hour days on set in Albuquerque," the source mentioned. Which is why it makes more sense for the 'Fury' star to spend time out there with that kind of schedule.
Reports about Pitt's equation at home with his children comes after he and Jolie legally restored their single statuses. The couple filed a bifurcated judgment on April 12, which declared them legally single but not fully divorced until a final settlement is reached.
However, the duo are yet to negotiate the rest of the terms of their divorce, including any potential financial settlements and custodial arrangements for their six children, although the former couple did manage to reach a custody agreement in November 2018.
