LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Wednesday' star Jenna Ortega liked Celebrities4Palestine's Instagram post about Melissa Barrera standing her ground after being dropped from 'Scream VII' for her pro-Palestine social media post.

Ortega's online support to her costar comes amid her exit from 'Scream VII', citing schedule clashes with 'Wednesday' shooting. Initial reports suggested Ortega exited the horror movie in support of Barrera but it actually has nothing to do with the issue, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

Ortega and Barrera costarred as sisters Tara and Sam Carpenter in the 2022 movie 'Scream' and this year's sequel 'Scream VI'.

Melissa Barrera says she won't be silenced

Despite getting dropped by the Spyglass media, Barrera has announced that she will not stop supporting the Palestinian cause.

She addressed her firing from the 'Scream' franchise, saying she "condemns Anti-Semitism and Islamophobia," and "condemns hate and prejudice of any kind against any group of people." However, she will "continue to speak out for those that need it most and continue to advocate for peace and safety, for human rights and freedom."

"Silence is not an option for me," said Barrera.

Her latest Instagram stories demand to "END THE OCCUPATION FOREVER."

She has also shared stories about the death toll in Gaza and videos of mass burial of dead bodies and the Israeli army arresting Palestinians in the West Bank.

Internet calls Jenna Ortega a 'true icon' for supporting Melissa Barrera

Social media is full of praise for Ortega for supporting her onscreen sister's determination to stand firm on her ground despite a setback.
