Is Shawn Mendes OK? Singer postpones world tour for three weeks to focus on mental health

Shawn Mendes, who is less than two weeks into his Wonder tour, left his loyal fans devastated after he announced that he was stepping away from the tour in order to focus on his mental health. The Canadian native, who enjoys close to 70 million followers on Instagram, shared a detailed post saying, “This breaks my heart” but unfortunately have to postpone the tour.
 
The 23-year-old crooner revealed in his post that he has been touring since the age of 15 and it was difficult for him to be on the road away from his friends and family. Mendes added that he needed some time to heal and take care of himself and his mental health and that he took the decision to postpone his world tour after speaking with his team and health professionals. For the unversed, all of Shawn Mendes shows till July 29 stand canceled. His tour is scheduled to run through August of 2023.

Is Shawn Mendes OK?

Taking to his Instagram, Shawn Mendes wrote, “This breaks my heart to have to say this, but unfortunately I'm going to have to postpone the next three weeks of shows through Uncasville, CT until further notice.” The ‘Stitches’ hitmaker continued, “I've been touring since I was 15 and to be honest it's always been difficult to be on the road away from friends and family.”

Shawn Mendes, who recently split from Camila Cabello, added in the post, “After a few years off the road, I felt like I was ready to dive back in, but that decision was premature and unfortunately the toll of the road and the pressure has caught up to me and I've hit a breaking point." The crooner concluded, “After speaking with my team and health professionals, I need to take some time to heal and take care of myself and my mental health, first and foremost. As soon as there are more updates I promise I will let you know love you guys.”



 

‘He tried his hardest to make it through’

The loyal fans of Shawn Mendes expressed their concern over singer’s latest post. “You are the strongest man out there, don't even think about the tour or the shows that's not what we want as a fan we want you to be healthy and happy nothing is more important than that, you are in my prayers all day take care and come back 100% stronger”, said one fan as another chimed in, “Obviously i’m sad that i’m not going to be seeing him tomorrow but his mental health is important. he tried his hardest to make it through tour and we don’t want him to feel burnt out. we love you shawn.”

The next one tweeted, “My opinion, they need to change the the tour dates, its exhausting travelling from one state to another, country to country..some tour dates are too close for him to get enough rest for his body and  his vocal! Love u.” Meanwhile, one user added, “Shawn mendes tour is postponed. I think im more upset than my niece and my bffs daughter. Should I just say f**k it and get a refund?” An individual concluded, “This breaks my heart to read but the time off will do you some good.
