Will Shaun White FINALLY marry Nina Dobrev? Olympic star bids farewell to games
Shaun White bowed out of the Olympics for the last time with a tear and without a medal, saying goodbye to the sport he dominated for twenty years. And now that he is out of the sport, the All-American hero is expected to marry his girlfriend, 'Vampire Dairies' actress Nina Dobrev.
The snowboarding star went into his bid for a fourth Olympic gold, but unfortunately, he could not win a medal in his last appearance at the games. White wiped away a tear as the adoring international crowd cheered him and his opponents hugged him. Now that he's said good-bye to the sport, fans are expecting that he'd propose to actress Nina Dobrev, who White himself described as a 'hot mess'.

White has previously secured gold in PyeongChang in 2018, in Vancouver 2010 and in Torino in 2006 and finished fourth at Sochi in 2014. Today he went into his final run having finished fourth in the first two jumps, but stumbled at his final attempt and the bid for a fourth gold was doomed. When White competes at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, Dobrev was cheering for him and was sending lots of love to the three-time gold medalist.
White and Dobrev first fueled relationship rumors in March 2020, when the pair was spotted bike riding in Malibu. The outing came about four months after Dobrev split from screenwriter-director Grant Mellon. Then, the couple made their romance Instagram official in May 2020 and they have been growing strong, posting pictures of Dobrev cutting White's hair during quarantine with cute captions.
In the weeks leading up to the 2022 Olympics, White praised the 'Vampire Diaries' actress, calling her a 'lifesaver.' “Nina’s just been so supportive and so amazing through this whole process for me,” White told People in January 2022. “Through the pandemic, she was a lifesaver, she really made that time in my life special.” Prior to his romance with Dobrev, White dated Sarah Barthel of the band Phantogram.
In November 2020, White and Dobrev celebrated their first Thanksgiving together. The Olympian posted a collection of images to Instagram at the time celebrating the holiday, including a black-and-white snap of himself and Dobrev. “I’m so thankful to be surrounded by so much love!! Getting older and watching my family continue to grow has been incredible. Hope everyone out there had an amazing thanksgiving!” White exclaimed.
Before White jetted to Beijing for the Winter Games, he enjoyed a snowy getaway with Dobrev. In images shared on the 'Love Hard' star’s Instagram account in January 2022, Dobrev is seen kissing White on the cheek as they both hold their snowboards.
