A few days back, Eric Trump, 36, the second son of President Donald Trump, shared a clip of the legendary comedian Robin Williams poking fun at the former vice president Joe Biden’s "rambling" speech. The video was titled, "Robin Williams Just Savages Joe Biden". After his tweet, as reported, Williams' daughter Zelda condemned Eric for using the clip. "While we’re ‘reminiscing’ (to further your political agenda), you should look up what he said about your dad," she tweeted, referring to a clip where Williams allegedly jabbed Trump. "I did. Promise you, it’s much more ‘savage'.” She added, “Gentle reminder that the dead can’t vote, but the living can,” she added.

The video Zelda is referring to can we viewed here. Eric’s tweet has also not gone down well with actor Sharon Stone. She tweeted, “First of all, Robin Williams was my dear friend. Secondly, using him or any dead comic’s material to support Trump is itself a joke. Aside from being the most vulgar and disrespectful behavior. Shame on you Eric Trump.”

Stone’s tweet led to a Twitter discussion where several users chimed in to share their views on the mater. Writer Matt Oswalt wrote: "Couldn't agree more. Hate how Williams and George Carlin's decades old material is being taken out of context and politicized."

A fan of the late comedian wrote: "Robin Williams who came across as one of the most decent, compassionate & empathetic men/actors I was lucky enough to grow up watching is being used to support trump... I only wish Robin was alive so I could watch the 30 minute rant he would go on destroying trump/his supporters."

A user claimed, "The Trumps have a long history of stealing artists' intellectual property. None of them have any respect for the law, for people's rights, for copyright or for the feelings of people involved in that theft. They are white collar thieves and con artists."

Another wrote: "Robin williams was speaking for people with no power a long time ago. Hed still be speaking for them today. Robin williams is missed."

Another opined, "Thank you for that. The problem is they have no shame. They will go to the lowest of lows and cheat their way to what they want. I can’t wait to be rid of the entire despicable family and their enablers. That’s the nicest thing I can come up with regarding them today."

A fan concurred, "Robin Williams had compassion and empathy for people. He is still loved and missed by millions of people. It's shameful for an idiot like eric trump to use ANYTHING that came from or was about Robin Williams."

The old video, shared by Eric, is from Williams' HBO special 'Weapons of Self Destruction'. He had made jokes about the then-vice president's infamous gaffes at public events. It surfaced just days before the presumptive Democratic nominee landed in hot water over his remarks about African-American and Latino diversity. According to ABC News, Biden was asked to opine about normalizing relations with Cuba and he went on to explain his view about the difference of opinion between two communities. As per the report, Biden said, “And by the way, what you all know but most people don't know, unlike the African American community with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things. You go to Florida you find a very different attitude about immigration in certain places than you do when you're in Arizona. So it's a very different, a very diverse community.” This statement was made to a panel of journalists at the National Association of Black Journalists-National Association of Hispanic Journalists 2020 virtual convention.
