Sharon Osbourne trolled for forcing assistant to enter burning house to save her dogs and paintings
Sharon Osbourne found herself amid a massive social media troll sesh soon after she shared an anecdote (on BBC's game show 'Would I Lie To You').
In the short video, Sharon narrates how she had once forced husband Ozzy Osbourne's assistant into a flaming house to get her dogs out and then some of the couple's expensive paintings. The firefighters had arrived and had assisted the assistant with a mask, which was taken off by Sharon as she wanted him to retrieve more paintings from the house.
"They had this oxygen for the assistant. So I said, ‘How very dare you. You work here. You get more paintings out right now.’ I took the mask and I put it on my dog," she added. Later, when Sharon and Ozzy sat down to recall what went down in the day, they found the events funny, which the assistant didn't take kindly and asked what was funny about what had happened adding that he could have a damaged lung. Sharon fired him.
Viewers aren't one bit impressed with the kind of insensitivity and vileness that was on display. Most labeled the story as "disgusting" and "horrible" and even slammed the show and its hosts for having a good laugh about it and sharing it during a time that is supposed to be so positive and warm.
"OK, what the hell is happening here? We see a Dickensian villain bragging about torturing and firing her slave worker and everybody is having a laugh? Are they having a stroke?" a fan wrote. While another said: "I assume this vile creature only ever told this story to other upper-class snobs who all laughed and treated it like nothing special, so Sharon has no idea that normal working people who can put themselves in the assistant's shoes would find this story horrifying."
"Wtf are people laughing and clapping has tv made them this hollow and heartless. Its disgusting how that old decrepid woman thinks her dog is more important than a human being," a fan of the show pointed out.
Let's hope there's an explanation for this.
