Jamie Foxx confirms Sela Vave has moved into his mansion after Katie Holmes split: 'I'm just trying to help her with her music career'
According to several Hollywood insiders, Jamie Foxx's new gal pal Sela Vave has apparently moved in with him -- but Foxx says it's just business.
The couple was spotted over the weekend holding hands while leaving a nightclub in Los Angeles, sparking rumors of a romance between the Oscar-winning actor and singer Vave.
The next day, Foxx announced his split with Katie Holmes, his girlfriend of six years, sources told Page Six. According to an insider, Holmes reported commented saying, “What Jamie does is his business.”
The outlet has now learned that Vave has moved into Foxx's mansion in Thousand Oaks, California.
Foxx later posted a video on his Instagram story addressing rumor mill surrounding their living arrangement.
While the 'Django Unchained' star seemed to confirm that Vave was staying with him, he insisted he was just trying to help her launch her music career.
“When I met Ed Sheeran, I didn’t know him from Adam,” Foxx said. “He slept on my couch for six weeks. Nick Cannon was 13 years old, he used to sleep at my old house … everybody come to my crib.”
Speaking of Vave, he said, “I did the same thing with her … We took her under our wing … We wanted to treat her the same way and give her the opportunity.”
Furthermore, he said any speculation about a romance between him and Vave was a “double standard.”
"I know what business I'm in," Foxx said. "People try to make mountains out of molehills. We want to treat her the same way and give her opportunities. I told her it’s going to be this way. It’s a double standard when it comes to women."
“I spoke to that girl’s mom and she put her trust in me,” Foxx continued. “We don’t ever cross lines like that, personal. I wanted to let you know, for all who were scandal chasing, that’s our artist, that’s our family … We are working.”
The 51-year-old actor also pointed out that Vave is "as young" as Corinne, his 25-year-old daughter. That said, Vave is reportedly just 21 years of age, with some outlets listing her as 19.
On the other hand, Vave defended herself saying she has been called a “whore, slut, homewrecker, thot, gold digger,” following the rumors. However, she said, “it doesn’t matter to me — I’m out here to work and do what I love most.”
