Scarlett Johansson refused to join chorus of condemnation against John Travolta for creepiest kiss of all-time
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Scarlett Johansson is one of Hollywood's most prominent and successful performers. She began at an early age and eventually moved up the ladder in a largely male-dominated industry. The 'Black Widow' actress was viewed as a sex icon right from the start. Johansson made headlines in 2015 after an awkward incident occurred on the Oscars red carpet involving the 'Grease' actor, John Travolta.
Johansson, 38, has always been able to keep her fans on their toes with her news and updates. Johansson's newly added sci-fi rom-com adventurous movie ‘Asteroid City’ is set to hit screens in theaters on June 23, 2023. The romance in the film is centered on the chemistry and connection between the lead actors, who frequently find themselves in odd or difficult situations. These roles are filled by talented and well-known actors like Scarlett Johansson from 'Avengers', Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks from 'Forrest Gump', Jeffrey Wright from 'Doctor Strange', and many others.
When John Travolta unexpectedly kissed Scarlett Johansson
When John Travolta attempted to kiss Johansson at the Oscars, things went horribly wrong. In the rapid viral pictures, the 'Grease' actor John Travolta was captured kissing Johansson on the cheek, as per Daily Mail. It was obvious that she was uncomfortable because she was staring straight ahead when the Pulp Fictions actor approached for a kiss.
Despite the fact that the rest of the world found this to be a weird incident, the 'Black Widow' actress subsequently backed Travolta and claimed that there was nothing wrong with it.

'That was very sweet and totally welcome'
Johansson, who co-starred with Travolta, 69, in the 2004 film 'A Love Song for Bobby Long', provided an account of their awkward encounter on the Oscars red carpet at the time. Although images seem to show an annoyed Johansson accepting a kiss on the cheek from Travolta, the actress claimed she hadn't "seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him."
Johansson told Associated Press at the time, "The image that is circulating is an unfortunate still-frame from a live-action encounter that was very sweet and totally welcome. That still photo does not reflect what preceded and followed if you see the moment live."
The 'Avengers' star explained, "There is nothing strange, creepy or inappropriate about John Travolta. Yet another way we are misguided, misinformed and sensationalized by the 24-hour news cycle. I haven't seen John in some years and it is always a pleasure to be greeted by him," as per ABC News.
'Asteroid City'
Tom Hanks and Scarlett Johansson were among the busload of celebrities who circled the movie 'Asteroid City's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023. In the plot, which is set in a fictional American desert town and stars Scarlett Johansson as a 1950s movie superstar, a group of young minds is assembled for a science contest that is interrupted by an alien invader, leaving them imprisoned in quarantine, as per BBC News.
