Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick's children make their world 'painful and exhilarating'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick embarked on an exciting journey together as they shared the stage for the revival of 'Plaza Suite' on Broadway. Originally scheduled for a two-week run in 2020, the production was halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the couple made a triumphant return to the stage with the play in 2022.
In ‘Plaza Suite', Parker and Broderick had the unique opportunity to bring their real-life dynamic as a couple and parents to the stage, drawing on their experiences raising their son James, 20, and twin daughters Marion and Tabitha, 13. Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis took to social media recently to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘Sex and the City’.
Parker and Broderick have been happily married for over two decades. The couple, who began dating in 1992 and tied the knot in 1997, share a deep bond. Parker, who is currently preparing for the premiere of Season 2 of 'And Just Like That', and Broderick, renowned for his role in ‘The Producers’ among other notable projects, welcomed James in 2002. In 2009, they had the twins, Marion and Tabitha.

While Parker and Broderick maintain their privacy regarding their children, there are few things known about the 20-year-old. James is often spotted enjoying Knicks games with his father. When he turned 18, Parker shared photos of him as a child on Instagram.

"On this day, you are 18 years old. I marvel at the passing of those years but equally the young man you are becoming. My love for you is an ache and an honor. As you leap toward and into your future, I remain your privileged and steadfast confident and joyful witness to the year ahead," she captioned the post.
Marion Loretta Elwell
Marion was born on June 22, 2009, through surrogacy. She had a special moment with her parents at the 2022 premiere of ‘Hocus Pocus 2’, gracing the red carpet with her family while wearing shoes from Parker's own collection.
"You turned our lives inside out and upside down, filled and continue to fill all the remaining space with endless surprises, romance, sentimentality, art and a bounty of a sort of love we didn't even know we were missing," Parker wrote on Instagram about her daughters in June 2021.
Tabitha Hodge Broderick
Tabitha, like her twin sister Marion, was born June 22, 2009, via surrogacy. In a candid interview on Girlboss Radio in 2018, Parker openly discussed the joys and trials of parenting, offering insights into their rewarding journey.
"You're in a constant state of worrying about your children . . . It's very painful and it's exhilarating. It's a really interesting way of living in the world. I read books differently, or I look at parents and children on the subway differently. I hear music differently or when I see something, I think, 'I wish Tabitha and Loretta were with me now and they could see this.' That's the good part," Parker said.
