'Completely blown away': Salma Hayek says Angelina Jolie is her favorite director while working on 'Without Blood'
LONDON, UK: Salma Hayek recently revealed the name of her favorite director. The actress has previously worked with notable directors including Julie Taymor, Robery Rodriguez, Chloé Zhao, and Ridley Scott but according to her, Angelina Jolie was her favorite director to work with after their collaboration on 'Without Blood' which is based on the international bestselling novel by Italian writer Alessandro Baricc.
'Without Blood' is about a conflict that takes place in a farmhouse in the Italian countryside. This is the 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' star's first film for Fremantle as part of a three-year deal. The 55-year-old veteran actress spoke about her experience in an interview with Deadline and revealed that she absolutely loved working with Angelina. Previously, Salma and Angelina co-starred in the Marvel film 'Eternals'.

The actress and producer said, "Angelina is the best director I’ve ever worked with. I absolutely loved working with her; enjoyed every second of it. It’s a tough piece but it was so delicious to come to work every single day. She is a genius and I think this might be her best movie yet. She did an amazing job, really."
Salma said that she was "completely blown away" by her mind, dedication, technical expertise, control over every aspect, and crystal-clear vision."She is so good with the actors, so passionate, and so focused. But most of all, I was blown away by her kindness to every single person on the set. I talked about this with my co-star Demián Bichir and we were saying, 'Wow, she’s really something.'"
In her interview, Salma also spoke about the new show she was producing, 'Santa Evita'. The show features Natalia Oreiro portrayinf Eva Perón, the well-known first lady of Argentina who died of cervical cancer in 1952 when she was 33.
"Eva Perón is a super charismatic character and there have been so many [projects] made about her. But Santa Evita is based on a part of Evita’s story that is a mystery which is, following her death, she was embalmed by her husband, and then [her body] disappeared for nearly 20 years," the Academy Award-nominee explained.
Jolie signed a three-year International deal with Fremantle to produce a number of movies, TV series, and documentaries. She said, "Freedom to tell important stories and bring them to a global audience is at the heart of her three-year deal. I am excited to be working with such a passionate and forward-looking team that has an international perspective."
