Ryan Edwards' wife Mackenzie Standifer is in denial about her husband's drug addiction
Teen Mom OG star, Mackenzie Standifer is in denial about her husband, Ryan Edwards' drug addiction and substance abuse issues. Edwards was recently arrested for violating his probation which is related to a previous heroin possession. The Teen Mom OG father was forced to get treatment after falling asleep at the wheel on the way to his wedding to Standifer.
As reported by US Weekly, "Mackenzie is in complete abject denial about Ryan’s drug addiction and issues surrounding how very, very serious it truly is. Mackenzie only wants to focus on having his baby and seems to be hoping that this will help him to be inspired to live a clean and sober life," a source revealed.
"Ryan denies the seriousness of the drug addiction, like any addict, will do, and Mackenzie chooses to believe him," the source continued.
Edwards shared his experience about his treatment program, "A little over 30 days ago, I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility. I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better. Without the support of my wife and parents, I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes."
The source also shared that Edwards sobriety was a cause of concern at the Teen Mom OG reunion. "There was real concern for Ryan’s sobriety at the reunion and he was urged to get further treatment by those close to the show off-camera, but refused. There is a genuine and real fear that Ryan could die because of his drug addiction."
It is also reported that Maci Bookout and her husband, Taylor McKinney, filed for temporary orders of protection against Ryan after he allegedly threatened them. The order of protection is believed to remain in effect until Ryan's next court hearing.
