LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Russell Brand, 48, has been accused of sexually assaulting an actress on the set of his film 'Arthur' in 2010.

This development comes more than a month after he faced a string of allegations by four women who accused him of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse.

A lawsuit against Brand was reportedly filed in New York on November 3, as per the Daily Mail. The woman who sued the actor-comedian only identified as 'Jane Doe' and alleged that Brand assaulted her while she appeared as an extra in a scene from 'Arthur'.

The movie was filmed at Le Cirque restaurant in Manhattan in July 2010, just three months before Brand tied the knot with pop star Katy Perry.

While Brand has strongly denied the past allegations made against him and claimed that his relationships had been "consensual," he is yet to address the latest claim, at the time of writing.

What are the latest accusations against Russell Brand?

In a court affidavit filed by the complainant, the woman claimed that Brand "appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol, and was carrying a bottle of vodka on set," before launching his attack and exposing his private parts to her on set.

"The sexual assault happened later that same day when I was in the bathroom," the accuser mentioned in her affidavit. "Mr. Brand entered after me and assaulted me, as a member of the production crew guarded the door from outside," she alleged.

The woman further claimed that she "suffered and continues to suffer extreme embarrassment, shame and fear" and now finds it "difficult to trust others" as a result of the alleged abuse by Brand.

The alleged assault accusation claimed to have happened after Brand was drunk, comes despite the latter celebrating 20 years of sobriety from alcohol and drugs in 2022.

According to the Daily Mail, the unnamed woman has reportedly filed the lawsuit against Brand under New York's Adult Survivors Act, which extended the window for victims to sue their abusers.

Warner Brothers, who produced the 2011 romantic comedy 'Arthur', a remake of the 1981 film of the same name, was also named as one of the defendants in the lawsuit alongside other companies involved in the production of the film.

The complainant is reportedly seeking unspecified monetary damages from Brand on grounds of assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress.

How pathetic on their part! Don’t believe a word of it he’s guilty, they obviously want to silence him for politics."

One fan alleged, "Seems like he's being setup after exposing a lot of real stuff about our government."

Another claimed, "They are all coming out now looking for 15 mins and $$$. Pathetic fake claims! Leave the guy alone!"
