A fact-checking website named Suggest has slammed National Enquirer after it claimed that the legal drama between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has been dangerously impacting the former 's health. In this week’s edition of the National Enquirer, the tabloid reportedly quoted an insider saying that though the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor is preparing to face his ex-wife while suing her for defamation, his increased weight has left many people concerned for his health.
The source alleged, “His general lack of self-care has been an issue for years now, but lately it’s gone into overdrive. Johnny’s pigging out on all the wrong foods and drowning his sorrows in booze while smoking like a chimney and doing hardly any exercise.” The insider also claimed that Depp’s weight has gone up to 260 pounds. “Johnny’s finding it tough to sleep and paces around like a caged tiger, ranting and raving about how Amber’s wrecked his life, and he’s ruined if this case doesn’t go his way. The legal fees alone are bleeding him dry, and Hollywood isn’t exactly knocking on his door. Worse still, he’s eating non-stop. He’s like a walking heart attack right now,” they added.

However, Suggest called National Enquirer’s reporting wild speculations and noted that the “tabloid doesn’t actually have any insight into Johnny Depp’s health or personal life. Given this tipster’s insistence on insulting the actor, they probably aren’t even close enough to the star to know about his diet.”
It also went on to call the insider’s claims “dubious,” before adding: “While Depp is definitely in a stressful position, we have no idea how he’s coping with it. But we do know that this magazine isn’t helping anyone by wildly speculating about Depp’s health. And since this same tabloid once criticized Depp for being too skinny for the same reasons, we aren’t buying into this latest tale.”
Meanwhile, it seems Depp has gone quiet on social media platforms as the last post shared on his Instagram page was from February 11. The series of images were from the movie ‘Minamata’ and were captioned: “In 2019, just before the pandemic struck, we made a film about giving a voice to those that have none. Such a theme feels more important today than ever. With all love and respect to the strong, beautiful and brave people of Minamata.
