Rosanna Arquette blames Trump's 'cruel, vindictive and immoral' policies for deaths of innocent Americans
Actress Rosanna Arquette branded the policies of Donald Trump “cruel, vindictive, evil, and deeply immoral” amid the coronavirus pandemic as the number of reported cases in the United States crossed 100,000, beating Italy and becoming the country with the most infected people.
Arquette took to Twitter on Friday to claim that the POTUS was withholding medical aid from hospitals across the country, which led to doctors and other health staff struggling to cope with the virus-stricken patients.
“The president of the United States of America is cruel vindictive, evil and deeply immoral,” she wrote. “American citizens are dying daily because of him and his withholding of medical supplies to hospitals across the country. The world is watching and will never forget, neither will we.”
She not only blamed Trump and his administration for handling the crisis poorly, but also the Republican Party for choosing an incompetent leader like him. “The United States of America has more cases of corona virus [sic] then [sic] any country in the world,” she wrote. “This all could have been avoided had we had a real leader who cared about the American people and not just profit. This will be the [GOP’s] legacy. The many deaths of innocent people. Shame [sic].”
A few days prior to slamming the president, the actress sang praises of governors like Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) and Gavin Newsom (D-CA) who were tirelessly working toward helping their states recover from the present ordeal.
"From all the manure spreading (lies )the flowers are blooming everywhere (truth )and it’s a beautiful thing to behold .gratitude to all the incredible Governors like Cuomo and Newsom for protecting their citizens, gratitude to all the health care workers for saving lives," she tweeted
Earlier this week, Trump said he was itching to see his countrymen go back to work even as the global economy experiences a free fall due to the pandemic that is pushing it fast into recession.
"Our country wasn't built to be shut down. This is not a country that was built for this. It was not built to be shut down," he said during a Monday briefing at the White House, CNN reported. "Certainly, this is going to be bad."
Trump's coronavirus task force is currently split on whether the self-isolating measures are worth the cost to the economy. "If it were up to the doctors, they may say let's keep it shut down -- let's shut down the entire world," Trump said.
A day before the press briefing, he tweeted: "WE CANNOT LET THE CURE BE WORSE THAN THE PROBLEM ITSELF. AT THE END OF THE 15 DAY PERIOD, WE WILL MAKE A DECISION AS TO WHICH WAY WE WANT TO GO!"
Trump's top economic adviser Larry Kudlow said Monday on Fox News that despite officials such as Dr Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease specialist, saying that advising people against social distancing could do more harm than good, the former was in agreement with the president.
"The President is right, the cure can't be worse than the disease, and we're going to have to make some difficult tradeoffs," he said. "I spoke with the President about this very subject late last evening, so we'll be looking at a number of different things. Let's give it another week."
