LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Ronny Chieng recently appeared on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live', and his entertaining anecdotes about his mother had the audience in fits of laughter.

Ronny Chieng revealed that despite traveling a considerable distance to Singapore, his mother refused to take any time off during the pandemic.

The comedian playfully pointed out that Singapore is quite far away, making the situation all the more comical.

He quipped, "I went there for two days, and she kept working through the two days, so I didn't get to see her." He added, "I hope she at least got an Employee of the Month or something like that for that."

Ronny Chieng's heartfelt thanks to Singapore's healthcare system

Chieng also gave an update on his mother's well-being, mentioning that she recently experienced a health issue. Fortunately, Singapore's excellent healthcare system played a crucial role in her recovery, prompting Chieng to express his gratitude to the country's top-notch doctors.

The conversation took an amusing turn when Chieng jokingly referred to Singapore as a "blue zone."

He explained that blue zones are places where it's incredibly challenging to die, and in Singapore, the only surefire way to meet that fate is by bringing drugs into the country.

He playfully suggested that agents dealing with problematic clients should book them a tour in Singapore.

The discussion then shifted to Chieng's recent comedy show in Singapore, his first in four years. His mother, who is not part of the entertainment industry, had an interesting request for her son.

She asked for 100 complimentary tickets for her colleagues. Cheing said, "She was like, 'I need 100 comp tickets,' and I'm like, 'Well, this all costs money.' She's like, 'Yeah, but it's for everyone I work with. I work so hard. I want to bring all my colleagues. I work with all my colleagues.' I'm like, '100 people? Yeah, but you don't have 100 friends."
