Why did Ron Perlman leave Opal Stone, his wife of 38 years, for Allison Dunbar?
'Sons of Anarchy' star Ron Perlman is spending time with his girlfriend, Allison Dunbar, during the isolation. Just days after his 70th birthday, he revealed that he gets his daily exercise with his girlfriend, Allison Dunbar.
The actor was spotted walking around in Los Angeles with 47-year-old Dunbar and his dog, Sassy. The 'Hellboy' actor turned 70 amidst the coronavirus pandemic but couldn't do much to bring his birthday in as Los Angeles continues to remain under a stay-at-home order.
It was in November last year that the actor filed for divorce from his wife of 38 years, Opal Stone Perlman. They got married on Valentine's Day in 1981 and have two children together — daughter Blake and son Brandon. It seemed like their relationship was struggling for a while now. Rumours started doing the round that he and Opal were in an open relationship as he continued to flirt with Dunbar and like her images on Instagram.
"Everyone thought Ron and his wife lived very separate lives," a source had said.
It was also assumed that Dunbar was a fling. "I will say this: The blonde actress he’s with now isn’t his usual type. He’d flirt on the set with extras like he was a single man. His wife’s name never came up."
Their divorce was finalized in May and just five days later, Perlman was seen kissing Dunbar outside of the Alexander Steakhouse in Pasadena, California. Soon afterward, the paparazzi also spotted them walking dogs together.
In an ironic interview the actor gave in 2018, he was asked the secret of the success of his marriage to Opal. "The mastering of the phrase, 'You know darling, you are so right!'" he had said. "If you can master that phrase, and you're a dude, you got a shot. I'm just a really lucky dude. The way my life worked out. In spite of a lot of my own stupidities and weaknesses, I'm still a lucky dude."
Interestingly, Dunbar had shared photos of them together to her Instagram seven months before he split from his wife. This indicates that his divorce with Opal was waiting to happen.
Could this mean that their romance had started way before he actually parted ways with his wife? Yes. The news of Opal and Perlman splitting came six months after he was photographers kissing the 'StartUp' co-star.
