On January 9, before noon, a DoorDash delivery driver noticed a toddler walking on Detroit's 8 Mile Road wearing only a diaper and socks.

Robert Jackson III was driving on the road which is situated half a block past John R Street, Detroit, Michigan. As he saw the kid, he immediately hit the brakes and picked the toddler up. First, Jackson wrapped the toddler in his coat to keep him warm and took him inside the car. Jackson said, "He was standing in the middle of 8 Mile like this."

"(He) was shaking, his hands and his lips were purple and his fingers were purple," Jackson added. This unnamed kid was too young to answer questions like where he lived or what he was doing in the middle of the road. Then the DoorDash driver added, "A baby - yeah man I know. You can't ask him who his mommy is. He can't talk." Pointing at the toddler in the car, Jackson said, "Look, he has no shoes."

Despite it being 38 degrees (which is considered on the warm side looking at the condition these past few days), it was surprisingly chilly due to the wind. This resulted in an almost freezing-like feeling. Since he was looking after the toddler, Jackson waved to another driver and asked him to alert 911. While the drivers waited for authorities to arrive, Jackson recorded a video on his phone.

Authorities were successful in determining who the baby was. Luckily, the toddler had just walked outside from a nearby residence. The two-year-old was under the supervision of his 16-year-old sibling who was supposed to keep an eye on the toddler.

The toddler was then taken to Children's Hospital for a checkup as he was on the road in such a cold weather and neither the driver nor the authorities knew for how long the baby was outside. Ending the talk, Jackson said, "It feels good that I was there - I don't know how to explain it."

In conclusion, it appears that the child just wandered off, and no charges are expected to be filed.
