Riley Green 'cancels' Bud Light from song's lyrics at concert amid Dylan Mulvaney controversy
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Riley Green has gone viral after he joined other country singers in boycotting Bud Light after it partnered with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. On Friday, April 14, the 34-year-old singer/songwriter was entertaining the crowd at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, when he changed the lyrics of his song "I Wish Grandpas Never Died."
Green tweaked the original line “And coolers never run out of cold Bud Light” to “And coolers never run out of cold Coors Light!” to much applause from the concert attendees..
Lawyer Rogan O'Handley posted the video of Green’s Friday concert on Twitter and wrote, “When @RileyGreenMusic sang his hit song ‘I Wish Grandpa’s Never Died’ last night, he changed the lyrics a bit The new line is ‘and coolers never ran out of cold Coors Light’ instead of Bud Light The crowd goes nuts.”

‘We are in the business of bringing people together’
This comes as Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth issued a statement days after the controversy. He said as reported by Newsweek, “We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people. We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer. My time serving this country taught me the importance of accountability and the values upon which America was founded: freedom, hard work and respect for one another. As CEO of Anheuser-Busch, I am focused on building and protecting our remarkable history and heritage.”
“I care deeply about this country, this company, our brand, and our partners. I spend much of my time traveling across America, listening to and learning from our customers, distributors, and others," Whitworth added.
