Singer Ricky Martin shared some exciting news on Saturday, September 28, and announced that he and his husband Jwan Yosef are currently expecting their fourth child together through surrogacy.
The 'La Mordidita' singer revealed the delightful news when he was accepting an award at the 23rd annual Human Rights Campaign National Dinner in Washington. At the event, Martin was joined by his husband as well as two out of their three children — twin sons Valentino and Matteo.
At the event, Martin shared in a report by E! News, "My family's here. Jwan, I don't see you but my husband Jwan, I love you, my beautiful twins, Valentino and Matteo, they're also here, I love you with all my heart,"
"You're my strength, you inspire me every day, you motivate me to keep doing what I'm doing and you guys are amazing kids. You guys are amazing. I love you. Lucia, my baby girl who is not here with us, she stayed at home with Grandma, but she's also the light of my life," he continued
"And by the way, I have to announce that we are pregnant. We are waiting," he added. Martin received the HRC National Visibility Award for being an advocate for LGBTQ rights and for his philanthropy.
HRC President Alphonso David shared in a statement, "With his unique voice and passionate activism, Ricky Martin has used his international stage to advocate for LGBTQ people around the world."
Martin is the father to two 11-year-old sons Mateo and Valentino Martin, who are twins, as well as daughter Lucia Martin-Yosef who is currently nine months old.
Martin and Yosef had started seeing each other in April 2016 and had decided to get engaged later in that same year. The couple tied the knot in January 2018 before they announced the birth of Lucia in December.
Martin has not yet shared the news on social media and it has not been reported when exactly the young one is likely to arrive.
