'RHOC' Season 16 premiere dubbed 'renaissance' after last season's 'garbage fire'
The Orange County housewives may be considered the pioneers of 'Real Housewives' world, but sadly over the past few seasons, the 'Real Housewives of Orange County's popularity began waning. The OG show began receiving a lot of backlash from fans for its poor casting choice and repetitive storylines. After watching the rating of Season 15 take a huge dip, the showrunners decided to switch things up and did a major cast overhaul.
They finally fired controversial housewives Kelly Dodd and Braunwyn Windham Burke, alongside new housewife Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, who failed to make an impression on fans. The showrunners replaced these ladies with fan-favorite housewife Heather Dubrow and roped in Braunwyn's friends Noella Bergener, Dr Jen Armstrong, and even Heather's friend Nicole James to spice things up. It looks like this casting overhaul may have paid off, as the Season 16 premiere episode was heavily appreciated by fans.
