The CW has managed to create its own space in the world of television programming and witnessed a surge in popularity in recent years. Shows like ‘Supernatural’, ‘Arrow’, ‘The Flash’, ‘Riverdale’, ‘Walker’, and ‘Legacies’ have taken the network to greater heights. The network is also doing an excellent job with its line-up for the 2020-21 broadcast season amidst the pandemic.

One of the shows that everyone is eagerly waiting for is ‘The Republic of Sarah’. The upcoming drama series chronicles the journey of a rebellious high-school teacher named Sarah Cooper (Stella Baker) who fights a corporation when a massive vein of coltan - an incredibly valuable mineral used in tech - is discovered under the town.

However, things take a U-turn when the residents of Greylock discover a shocking truth about their town.

The show received its pilot order back in January, but the network decided to skip the pilot round with a straight-to-series order in May. Let’s get to know more about ‘The Republic of Sarah’.

Air time

The drama series will be premiering exclusively on The CW on Monday, June 14, at 9 pm EST.

How to live stream

‘The Republic of Sarah’ will be airing its first episode on June 14 and viewers can download The CW app from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Apart from that, The CW is also available on devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Vizio Smart TV, Chromecast, Android TV, AirPlay, Apple TV, and Xbox One.

Plot

The official synopsis reads, “The bucolic tranquility of Greylock, New Hampshire is upended when a massive vein of coltan - an incredibly valuable mineral used in tech - is discovered under the town. State-backed mining company Lydon Industries swoops in with plans to extract the mineral. The plan also includes wiping Greylock off the map. With her friends and family in danger of losing their homes, rebellious high school teacher Sarah Cooper (Stella Baker) vows to stop Lydon's bulldozers. After Sarah and her friends win the vote, a federal judge agrees that Greylock isn't - and never was - part of the United States, the town becomes a new nation. Now, Sarah and her allies must confront an even more daunting task: building a country from scratch.”

The titular role of Sarah is being played by Stella Baker, who is known for her roles in TV shows like ‘Tell me Your Secrets’ and ‘The Mentalist’. Baker will be joined by Luke Mitchell who will be playing the role of Sarah's brother, Danny. 'Supergirl' actress Hope Lauren will be portraying the character of Corrine while Ian Duff will play the role of Grover, a man with a troubled past. 

Other actors to appear on the show are Izabella Alvarez (Maya), Nia Holloway (AJ), and Landry Bender (Bella).

Creators

The show is being created and written by Jeffrey Paul King, who is known for penning shows like ‘Elementary’ and the TV movie ‘Republic of Sarah’. King will also be serving as executive producer on the show along with Jeff Grosvenor, Kat Candler, Leo Pearlman, Mark Webb, and Mark Martin.

Candler will also be directing the pilot episode of ‘The Republic of Sarah’.
