LONDON, ENGLAND: The most recent addition to Disney+'s streaming library, 'Renegade Nell,' plunges viewers into the violent, crime-ridden 18th century.
Written by Sally Wainwright, the show immerses viewers in the life of Nell Jackson (Louisa Harland), a woman who sets out on a quest to clear her reputation after being accused of murder.
In the eighth episode of the series, titled 'Stop Printing This Muck,' Nell finds herself battling against false information being published in tabloids about her and her family.
She confronts newspaper magnet Lady Eularia Moggerhanger (Joely Richardson) in a bid to put an end to false rumors that are being spread about her. However, things get murkier when Eularia gets possessed by Sofia Wilmot (Alice Kremelberg).
Nell Jackson accuses Rasselas of selling fake news about her in Episode 7
The fake news about Nell was shown early in the program, revealing how false rumors about her and her family are spreading.
Nell, accompanied by her sisters George (Florence Keen), Roxy Totter (Bo Bragason), and Polly Honeycombe (Ashna Rabheru), decides to confront the newspaper editor for fabricating articles about her.
When Nell finds Rasselas (Enyi Okoronkwo) at the newspaper office, she assumes that he is the one spreading false information about her, given his absence following the Newsgate jail riot.
The guy refutes her accusations, asserting that he would never act in such a way.
Eularia Moggerhanger gets possessed by Sofia Wilmot
As they approach the editor of the newspaper, he explains that all news gets authorized by Eularia.
They agree to wait for the newspaper magnate, and when she arrives, Nell persuades her to write the truth about her.
However, when the printing machine starts issuing warnings to Nell seemingly on its own, things take a creepy turn.
While trying to comprehend the situation, Nell is taken aback when she discovers that Sofia has possessed Eularia.
Under Sophia's total control, Eularia begins to assault Nell. Things get more complicated as Nell refuses to retaliate owing to her being a lady.
As their conflict escalates, George performs a song that reveals the truth about Nell and her family.
Suddenly, Eularia breaks free from Sophia's grip and fires her editor too. She resolves to collaborate with Nell to expose the truth about Sophia and the Earl of Poynton (Adrian Lester).
