'Renegade Nell' Season 2 Update: Here's the renewal status of Disney+'s historical adventure series
LONDON, ENGLAND: Louisa Harland-led historical adventure series 'Renegade Nell' has captured the hearts of audiences, leaving them eagerly anticipating season 2. However, Disney+ has not released any official statement yet.
The series made its highly-anticipated debut on Disney+ on Friday, March 29, with all eight episodes available for fans to binge-watch over the weekend.
'Renegade Nell' is set in 18th century England and follows the story of Nell Jackson, portrayed by Louisa Harland. Nell is wrongly accused of murder and transforms into the notorious highwaywoman, becoming one of the most feared figures of her time.
Is 'Renegade Nell' Season 2 in the works?
At this junction, the streaming platform Disney+ hasn't given out any word regarding Season 2 of 'Renegade Nell' in the making.
However, director Ben Taylor disclosed to Radio Times that the scripting process for season 2 is currently underway.
He said, "We're now in the process of writing a possible second series, so you're able to take stock and figure out what would be the 2.0 version and focus on the stuff that was really working and do more of that."
He added, "I think there's gonna be a time jump, because we shot this over a year ago. So I think it's buying that and buying the thought that it's been that many years since we caught up with these characters, partly just for the age - Roxy and George are going to be visibly two years older.
"It’s about where we leave the characters, and what powers they have or don't have by the end of series 1 is sort of informing the jumping off point for series 2. I wish I could tell you, but there is some crazy, crazy stuff in store," he said further.
Well, this means we can keep our hopes high for 'Renegade Nell' Season 2, provided that Disney+ green lights it.
What to expect in 'Renegade Nell' Season 2?
'Renegade Nell' delivered an explosive climax filled with intense battles, powerful action sequences, and captivating spells in play.

In the climax, Nell engages in a fierce battle with the Earl of Poynton to protect the Queen. She uses Thomas' dark soul to thwart the Earl's plans, ultimately saving Thomas by sacrificing Billy Blind to enter his soul, extract the poison, and break him free from the Earl's spell.
Despite their past actions, Nell sets Sofia and Thomas free. However, the possibility of Sofia and Thomas returning for revenge in a potential next season looms.
Although the Earl of Poynton meets his end, the cult he was part of may emerge, leading to a significant battle involving black magic.
The upcoming season could also shed light on Billy Blind's fate, which remained unresolved in the Season 1 finale.
