LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Hollywood couple Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth have decided to end their more than a-decade-long marriage. The 47-year-old actress announced the news in a joint Instagram post on Friday, just days before their 12th wedding anniversary. Witherspoon and Toth, 52, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. The news has come as a surprise to many fans who have cherished their relationship over the years.
"We have some personal news to share... It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce," the mother of the three wrote in an Instagram post. "We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together," she continued.

The divorce, however, seemed to have agreed upon mutual terms as the former pair said they were calling it quits but still have mutual respect for everything. The “Your Place or Mine” star and the producer got married in 2011 at her ranch in Ojai. They share a 10-year-old son Tennessee, as per Today.

The post further read, "Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter. These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone's respect for our family's privacy at this time. Reese and Jim," the post concluded.
Actor Ryan Phillippe and Witherspoon were together from 1999 to 2008. Eva, 23, and Deacon, 19, are the children of the former couple. The actor celebrated her 47th birthday just a few days before to the news's release. On March 22, her oldest children offered heartfelt birthday greetings on Instagram. She wrote, "HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to this ✨legendary lady✨ I’m lucky enough to call my mama! She is truly a force of nature. While I am endlessly inspired by her and so proud of all she’s accomplished, what I admire most is the way she moves through the world as a curious, considerate, gracious, and loving person. 'Jim is hardly ever with her'
