Rebel Wilson revealed that she was "paid a lot of money" to stay on the "curvy side for Hollywood roles".

She has now opened up on the incident while dropping a lot of weight. Rebel Wilson had skyrocketed to fame after she appeared in the film 'Pitch Perfect' and played the role of Fat Amy. During a recent interview, the 40-year-old spoke about being paid to stay on the heavier side.

However, now she has decided to put her health and fitness first, Hollywood Life reports. While speaking to The Sun, Wilson said, "It’s not like I want to lose weight and get to around a certain number. It’s more than that, it’s about dealing mentally with why I was overeating. And I had a job where I was paid a lot of money to be bigger, at times, which kind of can mess with your head a bit."

Wilson has dropped around almost 40 pounds and is not worried as to how it will affect her roles. She had also kicked off 2020 and said that this would be her "year of health". She explained, "Weirdly, this year was always going to be the year of health. I’ve been naming my years now, and, that’s kind of having these resolutions, but for the whole year."

"I always thought that I may be psychic and I always felt this year I wasn’t really going to work much," she continued. "I turned 40 as well in March and so I thought, this is gonna be it. This is going to be the year for me to just concentrate on the health benefits."

She revealed that she is determined to work on her mental health and also physical well-being to stay happy.

On Thursday, June 18, Wilson took to her social media handle to show off her slimmer figure while posing in a stunning blue dress that showed off ample cleavage. She received a lot of support from her fans and followers who flooded the comments section of the picture.

One such user wrote, "Looking fantastic Rebel. Sing us a song. Or tell us a joke. We miss you too." Another commented, "The girls are out there today! You look lovely and what a great background." Another fan said, "So Love you girlie! You are absolutely the cutest and funniest ever!"

"You have transformed into a fashion model!!" wrote an encouraging and supportive fan.

According to a dietician Kate Save who spoke to Daily Mail, Wilson has lost up to 18 kg (40lbs or 2.8 stone). Save said, "My team aligned at 16 to 18 kg given that her height is quite short (5ft and 2 inches)."

While speaking to Sunrise, Wilson herself said, "There's been a lot of working out, which was hard with the coronavirus restrictions." She also shared that she was very happy that gyms in Australia were beginning to reopen as she was ready to get back to her training and 'pump iron'.

"I had to go out to the park and lie on the dirt doing my sit-ups. It's a bit brutal, and it's getting cold in the mornings," she said.
