JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA: 'The Trust: A Game of Greed' Season 1 winner Jake Chocholous clinched the 'reality star of the week' title, not for pocketing a whopping $48,600, but for his decision to share the prize pot. Jake experienced a whirlwind romance with fellow contestant Julie Theis while strategizing on the Netflix show.

However, their romance took a downturn following the premiere of the Netflix reality show finale, primarily due to Jake's controversial 'right-wing' beliefs. His open expression of these beliefs on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube stirred controversy.  Jake, a contestant on the Netflix show, posted videos on social media criticizing parents allowing sons to dress in princess costumes, questioning the compatibility of being gay and Christian, and expressing dissent towards plus-size body positivity. In a recent interview with DailyMail, Julie asserted that Jake's 'hateful' beliefs contributed to the demise of their relationship.

She shared, "Our beliefs are so different and we're never going to have a romantic relationship because of that." Julie added, "And it's not just that Jake and I have different beliefs. He has beliefs that I adamantly stand against and think are hateful." Julie also claimed that the Netflix show cast did not get to see each other's social media while filming, so they were just making 'snap judgments'. She added that learning about Jake's political views was a 'confusing experience' for her after encountering the 'charming' and 'charismatic' person during the filming of the Netflix show.

Despite the ongoing controversy and split, 'The Trust: A Game of Greed' stars Jake Chocholous and Julie Theis remain friends. The Netflix show winners still follow each other on social media and recently shared a photo. Jake took to his Instagram and shared a loved-up photo with Julie. In the picture, Jake wrapped up Julie with his arms around her as the duo smiled for the cameras. He captioned the photo, "That’s a wrap," fueling romance rumors.

However, Jake clarified that he and Julie are still in close contact and on good terms amid their split news. In a recent interview, Jake revealed that he had a series of romantic weekends after wrapping up filming the Netflix show. He also claimed that they were even 'FaceTiming every night' as the show premiered.

Jake Chocholous dubs co-winner Tolu Ekundare 'cold-hearted'

'The Trust: A Game of Greed' stars Jake Chocholous and Tolu Ekundare were never been friends during their time on the Netflix show. Tolu was upset with Jake after he referred to her as 'African,' but they managed to mend things, at least for a few episodes, after clarifying their misunderstandings.

After the Netflix show finale premiered, Jake and Tolu's connection seemed to be strained, especially following Tolu's self-centered move. Jake recently criticized Tolu for taking the $25,000 during the final offer. He claimed that he is not on good terms with Tolu, and a lot happened between the two in the house that wasn't shown on camera.

Jake said, "There was a lot of other things that went on in the house that people didn't see that happened between me and Tolú, a lot of things." He further revealed that Tolu had called him "a lot of inappropriate crude names, a lot of things that I think just a young, immature 26-year-old without a lot of life experience says things like that."

Jake added, "She's so cold-hearted. I can't believe it. I have no ill will towards her, but I'm definitely not going to be messaging her anytime in the near future."
