'Ready for a new chapter': Aaron Carter put his house up for sale just weeks before dying in it
LANCASTER, CALIFORNIA: Singer Aaron Carter, who was found dead in his bathtub on November 5, had put up his house for sale just last month. The 34-year-old allegedly drowned in the bathtub of his home in Lancaster.
The decision to sell his property for $799,900 merely weeks before his demise raises questions regarding the nature of his death that is being viewed as a case of drug overdose. He was found by a member of his staff, who then alerted the police. The singer had announced that he was selling the house to start a "new chapter" elsewhere, reports Marca.

According to the listing, the estate spans over 9,583 sqft, with seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. The house offers serenity, and is surrounded by palm trees and landscaped gardens. The spacious property also boasts an outdoor patio and backyard, a movie theatre/loft, a formal living room, and a similarly formal dining space. The family room is "cozy", and equipped with a fireplace. The house is repeatedly described as a "paradise" in a prime location in the city, with a private pool and garage that offers parking space for four vehicles.
On November 5, police responded to a 911 emergency call that stated a man had drowned himself to death. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesperson confirmed that they found a deceased person at the house. Homicide detectives were also sent to the scene to investigate. Carter, who is the brother of 'Backstreet Boys' member Nick Carter, had been engaged to Melanie Martin. She was spotted at the house later, looking clearly devasted. The couple welcomed a baby boy in November last year.
