'Make it stop': Fans react as Questlove set to direct live-action remake of Disney's 'The Aristocats'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Live-action remakes have become a theme at Disney. All of our favorite childhood movies are being transferred to a real world. One of the classics, 'The Aristocats,' which hit theaters in 1970, will soon be remade by Walt Disney Studios. Ahmir 'Questlove' Thompson, who won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature last year, returns to direct a hybrid live-action adaptation of 'The Aristocats.'
Thompson also serves as executive producer and will be responsible for the film's music, with the screenplay written by Will Gluck and Keith Bunin. Tarik Trotter, Shawn Gee and Zarah Zohlman are executive producers on behalf of Thompson's production company, Two One Five Entertainment. Will Gluck and his production company Olive Bridge are producing along with Thompson's Two One Five.

OG 'The Aristocats' is '70s classic
'The Aristocats' was released in 1970 and was directed by Wolfgang Reitherman. The film tells a story about a Parisian lady who lives with her cats. When the lady leaves all her belongings to her four cats, her greedy butler kidnaps the cats and leaves them in the countryside, but a group of retired army dogs and a stray cat get in his way.
'I pray they don’t ruin this classic'
It seems the idea of live-action remakes doesn't sit well with audiences. After it was announced that another classic is getting a live-action remake, fans on Twitter weren't very enthusiastic and shared their opinions about the whole thing. One user said, "So many animated feature Disney classics made into or being made into live action" to which another user replied with, "agreed, it is kind of stupid." One user pointed out the obvious and stated, "Does disney actually care about aristocats copyright?" while some users educated themselves when one asked, "By “live action”, what do we mean here? I’m guessing the animals will be animated." and to which another replied, "I know that in the case of The Lion King, they actually did film on location and many of the environments were real. They just digitally inserted CGI animals into the environments." Another exasperated user said, "Please no James Corden." Another user chimed in, "This sounds amazing I pray they don’t ruin this classic." one user said that this whole thing was the best way to distract the audience from the latest layoff news and shared his previous reaction with the new one, "Disney is definitely announcing some new project to distract from this," with, "Lmao f*cking called." Another user begged, "Make it Stop."
