How did Quentin Oliver Lee die? Broadway actor and opera singer dies tragically at 34
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Broadway actor Quentin Oliver Lee has died at the age of 34, announced his wife Angie Lee Graham. The actor was fighting colon cancer and succumbed to the disease ‘in the wee hours of the morning’ on Thursday, December 1. The actor was best known for his role as the Phantom in the US tour of 'The Phantom of the Opera' and an off-Broadway role in 'Oratorio for Living Things.'
"I saw his last breaths, held his hand tight, and felt his heartbeat slowly drift away. He had a smile on his face, and was surrounded by those," she captioned on Lee's Instagram with his picture with his daughter Samantha. “It was peaceful and perfect,” she added. Lee shared the news on his health with fans in June revealing that he was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. Oliver Lee wrote in an Instagram post, “This year has been a wild ride, I got a chance to work with some incredible people at the TONY nominated ‘Caroline or Change’ musical, debut a sold-out Lortel Winner off-Broadway masterpiece, ‘Oratorio for Living Things,’ and was diagnosed with stage 4 Colon Cancer.”

Describing her husband, Angie wrote, “He was an incredible man, husband, father, son, brother, friend, singer, actor, and disciple of Christ with great faith in his Father in Heaven. To say "he will be dearly missed" doesn't reflect the scope of the people and communities he has created and touched.”
She ended the post by thanking those who stood by them in these difficult times, “Samantha and I are supported and lifted by our families and our own faith. Please understand if I don’t respond, but trust that your messages and love have been read and felt. If we let him, he made us better people.” Lee’s last performance was live-streamed in October, where his fellow Broadway stars participated together in A Benefit for Quentin Oliver Lee in New York City, reported New York Post.
His other top performances comprise the 2021 revival of ‘Caroline, or Change’ and ‘Prince of Broadway’ in 2017. Lee was also an understudy in Diane Paulus’ touring production of ‘Porgy and Bess. Lee was multi-talented, and as an opera singer, the 34-year-old appeared onstage in the notable ‘I Am Harvey Milk’ and ‘Carmen,” among several others. Lee earned his Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from Northern Arizona University in 2012.
