Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor behind in Vancouver, Canada, and not carry him along to Britain during their visit has reportedly left Queen Elizabeth feeling “very sad”.

The couple will be in Britain this week to wind up their last royal engagements. While Harry has been in Britain since last week to complete his official duties, his wife Meghan is expected to join him this week. While the couple is touring Britain finishing their royal duties, Archie will be staying back in Vancouver under the care of his nanny and Meghan’s close friend Jessica Mulroney. Archie’s absence from the trip has reportedly left the Queen and her husband Prince Philip “very sad” because they have seen very little of him since his birth, reported Sunday Times.

Archie was last spotted in the photograph shared by the couple on their Instagram page on New Year’s eve. The photo features the young royal with his father Harry. Archie is yet to set foot in Britain this year.

Meanwhile, the couple's security bill is said to have increased by $64,000 after they decided not to bring along their baby to Britain, reported The Sun. A royal insider revealed to the news outlet that the couple’s trip is becoming a “headache”. The source said, “Meghan's London jaunt is proving a real headache. It's an expensive time just when the costs of looking after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are under scrutiny.”

Harry made headlines last week when he was attending an eco-tourism summit in Edinburgh where he asked the delegates to address him as Harry. Meghan will be joining Harry this week for five official appearances.
