Queen Naija and Chris Sails: How high school sweethearts and once rising YouTube stars fell prey to infidelity
Popular as 'Queen Bulls', Queen Naija first rose to prominence as a contestant on Season 8 of 'American Idol' but breaking into the music industry wasn't a piece of cake for the superstar who boasts of a vibrant Black, Italian and Arab ethnicity.
While she didn't reach the finale of the singing competition reality series, she resumed building up a YouTube career after her stint as a security guard. Her 2017 single 'Medicine' and the 2018 single 'Karma' soon created waves and turned her into an established singer and songwriter.
Not many people knew that by then, she was already married to her high school sweetheart, Christopher Sails Sr and had a son, named Christopher Jeremiah 'CJ' Sails. She married him in 2014, at the age of 19 and the pair started their YouTube channel named 'Chris and Queen' in 2016. Along with popular song covers and remixes, it also featured couple-related challenges, daily vlogs, and pranks. Their followers grew in no time, scooping more than 2.3 million subscribers in a year.
Soon, trouble in paradise ensued after Chris had an affair with another woman and it came into public eyes. The pair officially parted in November 2017 after Queen Naija filed for divorce. She also gave up their YouTube channel to Sails, which was renamed Chris Sails. She created her own YouTube channel, named Queen Naija, which has more than 4.51 million subscribers.
Sails has had frequent run-ins with the law ever since. The social media star was arrested in 2018 for assaulting his then-girlfriend Parker McKenna. Reportedly, Sails "got pissed after he saw a DM from another man on her phone, and started beating her so badly, she thought she was going to die." Not just that, he was also allegedly detained along with three others for pretending to be fraud Houston police officers to promote a concert. Moreover, his former girlfriend Savay posted bruises on her arms from his alleged abuse.
Recently, he was arrested again on aggravated assault charges. While details of his recent arrest haven't been disclosed yet, a mugshot of the 24-year-old was made public which discloses he is being held on a $15K bond in a Texas jail. Soon after the reports surfaced, Queen Naija posted an Instagram story to look for her son.
"I need my son now," Naija wrote. "Whoever has my son contact me NOW. If you guys know who Chris be around and with DM ME!! I can not locate my son! Nobody is answering me." The story was deleted soon after and hence, there is speculation that she contacted her son.
As of now, there is no official confirmation on Sails' bail, but we hope that Queen Naija reunites with her son as soon as possible. After her split with Sails, Queen Naija started dating social media star Clarence White, who also owns the clothing company Designed By White. The two have a son, Legend Lorenzo White. In 2018, the pair also started a collaborative YouTube channel, named Royal Family, which soon gathered 2.57 million subscribers.
