Princess Beatrice's wedding likely in UK despite her wish to marry in Italy because the Queen 'won't fly to Europe'

Royal expert Ingrid Seward said the wedding, set to take place on an unspecified date in spring next year, will be held in England to accommodate Elizabeth II's presence at the ceremony.

Although Princess Beatrice would ideally like to get married in Italy following her engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last week, she will likely have to settle for tying the knot in the United Kingdom as Queen Elizabeth II  "won't fly to Europe for the wedding," a royal expert said.

The 31-year-old royal's engagement to the 34-year-old father-of-one, who was dating Beatrice since late last year, was announced by the Buckingham Palace on Thursday, September 26. Mozzi hails from a family of Italian aristocrats and proposed the princess while both of them were on a romantic trip and staying in the exclusive cliffside village of Positano, on the Amalfi Coast.

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, their wedding, which is set to take place on an unspecified date in spring next year, will be held in England, to accommodate the Queen's presence at the ceremony.

"I think in her heart Beatrice would like to be married in Italy where Edo's from, but there's no way the Queen will fly to Europe for the wedding so it will have to be in England," Seward told OK! Magazine, Daily Mail reported.

The expert added that Beatrice, unlike her sister Princess Eugenie, is "more pliable" and hence feels the pressure to "keep everyone happy" when it comes to organizing her big day. Also, her wedding ceremony will most likely take place in St George's Chapel in Windsor, which is considered the "family church," as opposed to the Westminster Abbey, where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge got married.

After the announcement of their engagement, the couple released the following statement: "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to actually be married. We share so many similar interests and values, and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."
