Four generations of the British royal family, starting with the Queen herself and ending with 6-year-old Prince George, took part in a commemorative Christmas cooking that was captured in a series of adorable pictures.

The photos were released by the Buckingham Palace on Saturday, December 21, in which, little Prince George was seen concentrating on stirring a bowlful of cut-up sticky dried fruits with a wooden spoon as his father, Prince William, 37, grandfather, Prince Charles, 71, and the 93-year-old reigning British monarch watched. Although the young prince was not wearing an apron or even had his sleeves rolled up, he impressively managed to keep his white shirt spotlessly clean.

For the occasion, the Queen donned a light blue dress designed by Angela Kelly, complete with a sapphire and diamond brooch, while Prince George wore a pique piped shirt by British designer Rachel Riley. A Christmas tree decorated with baubles, including crowns, corgis, a throne and Scots Guards wearing kilts and bearskin hats stood in the background.

When the eldest child of the Duke of Cambridge, who is third in line to the British throne, had mixed the fruit to his satisfaction, each Royal placed commemorative sixpences into the mixture, as per an age-old tradition, which is said to bring luck to the person that finds a coin while eating the Christmas pudding.

The photos were part of a commemorative cooking session filmed last week in the Music Room, one of Buckingham Palace's 19 State Rooms, and the place where Prince William was once christened. The footage was recorded as part of the Royal message to be issued to the public on the occasion of Christmas. It was filmed before Prince Philip, 98, was rushed to King Edward VII's Hospital on Friday.
