Queen was concerned that Prince Harry was 'a little over-in love' with Meghan Markle, book claims
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM: Queen Elizabeth welcomed Meghan Markle with open arms but was concerned that Prince Harry was "a little over-in love" with her, a new biography claimed. Gyles Brandreth, a close friend of Prince Philip, reportedly claimed that the Queen was fond of Meghan and went out of her way to make her feel welcome, in a new biography of the late monarch.
Contrary to what Meghan said in the Oprah interview, the author and broadcaster said that the royal family cordially welcomed her in his new book, 'Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait'. He claimed that while the Queen was thrilled with the idea of Harry and Meghan being married, she just had one little concern, as per The Mirror.

"The only concern the Queen let slip in the early days of the Sussexes’ marriage was to wonder to a friend if Harry wasn’t ‘perhaps a little over-in-love,'" writes Brandreth. "This was as far as she came – to my knowledge at least – to ever uttering a word against the new Duchess of Sussex." According to reports, the Queen even advised Meghan to continue acting out of worry for her future happiness, The Mirror reported.
Brandreth claims in his book that the Queen died due to bone marrow cancer. However, her official cause of death was listed as "old age", but Brandreth wrote, "I had heard that the Queen had a form of myeloma — bone marrow cancer — which would explain her tiredness and weight loss and those ‘mobility issues’ we were often told about during the last year or so of her life."
The biography also speaks about the Queen's extraordinary stoicism in her final months. According to reports, she revealed to a lady-in-waiting that she was determined to stay busy because it would help her deal with Philip's death. She reportedly did not want to resort to self-pity, adding, "My husband would certainly not have approved."
The book also claimed that the Queen experienced bouts of lethargy. According to the biographer, when the Queen felt so, she would pass the time by binge-watching the BBC thriller 'Line of Duty'. This follows news that King Charles has followed one of the Queen's final wishes by appointing six new members to the prestigious Order of Merit of the UK. They were personally picked by the Queen before she died, according to Buckingham Palace.
