Quavo reveals adorable pick-up line he used for Saweetie, a look at the power couple's two-year relationship
Hip-hop group Migos member Quavo, who is currently dating rapper Saweetie for the last two years, has shared what pick-up line he used two years ago to approach her. The 29-year-old musician posted two photos on his official Twitter account to share how it all began. In one of the photos, we can see Quavo and Saweetie sipping their favorite drinks in a selfie while in another photo, the American rapper shared a screenshot of their personal text dating back to March 15, 2018.
He captioned the post as, "HOW I PULLED UP: HOW WE COMING." In the screenshot, we can see Quavo and Saweetie exchanging messages. We can see that Quavo had first sent an emoticon of a snowflake to which she replied with an emoticon of a bowl of hot ramen noodles. Quavo then pulled up his flirting skills and wrote, "u so icy ima glacier boy," referring to her 2017 hit single ‘Icy Girl’ and also her 2017 album is titled ‘Icy’, to which Saweetie replied with “was hannin then”.

According to Complex, Quavo Huncho had revealed these details in an interview with GQ back in July. "I seen her on my Explore page. I was like, ‘Damn! Who is this?’ So I did my research and I DM her. I was like, ‘How she going to call herself icy and she don't talk to me?’ So I slid in her DM... I told her, ‘You an icy girl, you need a glacier boy.”
Well, these two surely set some ideal relationship goals. The rumors about their relationship began when Saweetie first appeared in Quavo’s ‘Workin Me’ music video in August 2018. However, it is believed that after the video shoot, the two were practically inseparable. It is rumored that the duo started dating somewhere near September and October of 2018. As for how they actually met, the female emcee had spilled the beans about it during a 2019 appearance on the show 'Big Boy's Neighborhood'. She said, “At first, he DMed me. You know what, it was weird because his DM went straight to my inbox. It went straight in, it didn't go to the requests. And then we kept running into each other.”
Fans had to wait until March 2019 when Quavo made their relationship official via an Instagram post. The rapper had posted a sweet tribute to her new album ‘Icy’ and captioned it as, “I C Y M I D N I G H T YESSSIRRRR!!! @saweetieIcy MasterpieceCHO Is Proud Of U!!!!” Saweetie gradually became a tight squad member of Quavo’s hip-hop group Migos as they were spotted at various events and Instagram shoutouts became a common thing between the two.
However, things went south when the couple had to face their first scandal in December 2019 after a woman named Lashae Clair reportedly took to Twitter to claim Quavo was cheating on Saweetie with her. It was reported that Quavo and Saweetie might part their ways, however, the couple left everyone shocked when they came out strong together, unbothered by the controversies.
Enter 2020, their bond only got stronger than ever. Quavo and Saweetie walked their first Grammys red carpet together in January. In an interview with Billboard, the singer-songwriter had stated, "I’m a go getter, he a go getter, so… we inspire one another."
The power couple’s bond grew thicker as the world faced the unfortunate pandemic. Saweetie had told Us Weekly in June, "Before quarantine we spent a lot of time with each other, so it’s not really that different. Fortunately for us, we’re both workaholics, so because he’s focused on the third Migos album and I’m focused on my next project, it’s kind of like business as usual and we kind of just brought our work home."
The hard-working couple now keeps showering love on each other in several Instagram posts and is going stronger by the day.
