Some QAnon conspiracy theorists are known to often make mountains of a molehill. Digging for the smallest of clues in the most trivial of things. This time around, QAnon conspiracy theorists have taken Twitter by storm with their latest idea - one that has many people on the social media site confused as a lot significance is given to that moment when a cicada flew around the neck on President Joe Biden just before he boarded Air Force One.

Just ahead of his visit to Cornwall, England, for the G7 summit, a clip of Biden swatting away an insect went viral on social media. "Watch out for the cicadas," the President had reporters shortly afterward. "I just got one. It got me." Now, there are bizarre suggestions doing the rounds that the one cicada that landed on the president was actually a coded message from the mysterious "Q."

A June 9 video of Biden swatting away a cicada that landed on his neck started circulating on QAnon forums and group chats. QAnon supporters claimed the reappearance of the Brood X actually had a lot of meaning. According to reports online, some followers were wondering if this was a sign from "Q," who they believe to be a government insider with the sole aim of exposing top-level secrets in information drops called "comms." For the unawares, QAnon is a baseless far-right conspiracy theory that claims former President Donald Trump is secretly fighting a "deep state" cabal of satanic pedophiles and cannibals.

We The Media, a collection of QAnon supporters with more than 225,000 subscribers on its Telegram account, had a post dissecting the meaning behind the Brood X appearance. "JOE BIDEN BITTEN BY A CICADA - COMMS? Just so happens that Cicadas nymphs emerge after a 17-year childhood underground!!!"

"What? CHILD? UNDERGROUND? 17? Yes. Then after a short period above ground they molt, mate, lay eggs and die," We The Media's post added.

Seventeen is the 'it' number for QAnon supporters. Anything that can be linked to the number 17, can be interpreted as "comms" sent by Q for them. The letter Q is also the 17th letter of the alphabet. The "underground" comment is a reference to the long-standing belief that there is a secret underground tunnel system where children are trafficked and abused by the satanic pedophiles - that "Q" and Trump will one day expose.

On Twitter, many people, clearly not QAnon supporters, are ridiculing their latest idea. "In a way only they can, supporters of the QAnon conspiracy theory are bizarrely suggesting there was huge significance in the moment a cicada flew around the neck of President Joe Biden before he boarded Air Force One. These Mother F's are bat shit bonkers. Laughing," one wrote.

Calling it a cult, one user tweeted, "QAnon believers and influencers claimed that a cicada that landed on President Joe Biden’s neck was a sign that “the storm” was finally happening. #QAnonCult Those people are f**king nuts!!" A user taunted, "None have been seen near the #formerguy & the #QCult's afraid this means Donald's 'magnetic' personality is diminishing."
