HIDDEN HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Kourtney Kardashian’s ‘Lemme Purr’ vaginal gummies have come under fire by many ever since they were launched for the public. Now, gynecologists have weighed in on the controversial probiotic. The gummies, which were already deemed to be ‘extremely problematic,’ have now been slammed by women’s health experts as well.

There has also been much discourse about how there was no evidence to prove Kardashian’s claims about the gummies. In her Instagram post launching the product, Kardashian said, "Vaginal health is such an important part of a woman’s overall well-being (and not talked about enough) which is why we are so excited to launch this! Give your vagina the sweet treat it deserves (and turn it into a sweet treat). You know what they say…you are what you eat.” She then went on to talk about the benefits of the gummies and how they would help. “We combined real pineapple and Vitamin C with the power of clinically-studied SNZ 1969™ probiotics to target vaginal health and pH levels that support freshness and taste," she stated.

Kardashian’s new vaginal gummies were launched last week and gynecologists and health experts were quick to slam the reality TV star and refute her claims. Many of them called on women to take the advice of a doctor instead of an influencer and also criticized the promises of the vitamins as “purely misogynistic and anti-feminist.” Dr Brooke Vandermolen, an obstetrics and gynecology specialist has stated that the claims have “no merit” and has also challenged the supposed benefits of the gummies, as per FOX News.

Gynecologists speak out on Kourtney’s vitamins

"All vaginas have an individual smell and taste which will vary according to your menstrual cycle, exercise patterns, and your diet," Dr Vandermolen said. "The odor of discharge is important for the function of the vagina because it means a healthy balance of bacteria is present in the vaginal microbiome," the doctor further stated as per Fox News.

She then went on to add, "It is purely misogynistic and anti-feminist to suggest that vaginas are somehow unclean or unhygienic because their natural smell doesn’t fit in with the ideal provided in mainstream media and porn.” She also took a shot at Kardashian’s advertising for the product, adding that, "It contributes to the objectification of women, depersonalizing them from their genitalia and reducing them to sexual objects.”

Dr Anita Mitra, also a women’s health expert with a PhD in the study of the vaginal microbiome has taken issue with the product being marketed as ‘clinically tested.’ She states that the words ‘probiotic’ and ‘microbiome’ are being used as marketing buzzwords to make the vitamins look credible. “Anyone who tells you that you need to change the taste or smell of your vulva or vagina is working with the patriarchy," she said. "And while we are at it, let’s stop using the cat emoji to refer to our anatomy…" Dr Mitra stated.
