Popular Twitch streamer Puppers, 32, who rose to fame playing the survival game 'Dead by Daylight', has died three years after being diagnosed with a neuron disease. He was known for his positivity and charm.

The 'DBD' community rallied around him following his diagnosis and set up the Light in the Fog Foundation, raising $270K to support his treatment, BBC reports. The foundation said in reference to his catchphrase, Puppers was "forever in our hearts, eternally comfy."

How did Puppers die? 

Puppers, aka Max, would end his streams by telling fans to "stay comfy, because if you're comfy, you're winning." In 2020, the streamer received an ALS diagnosis, the most prevalent form of MND (Motor Neurone Disease). According to the NHS, the disease impacts the brain and nerves and creates a weakness that worsens over time. Although there is no cure for the illness, there are therapies that can assist lessen its effects on a person's day-to-day activities. 

A post on his Twitter page confirmed his death, saying he "loved you all so very much." "Thank you for all of the love and support throughout his career - making you all happy is truly what he lived for," it said.



 

'Thank you for being a light in the fog'

Puppers' fans paid tributes to him on social media after news of Twitch streamer's death broke. One fan wrote, "Puppers made one of the biggest impacts on the DBD community that I've ever seen. He will forever be a pillar of the community. He put up one hell of a fight and now he can rest. Thank you for what you guys did and I'm so sorry for your loss." Another one wrote, "Rip Dam I love his Content I canโ€™t believe heโ€™s gone Prayers to his Family and Friends." "My heart feels so heavy. Thank you for being a light in the fog and an inspiration to so many. Until we meet again," said a fan. Another fan grieved, "Youโ€™ve made such a large impact bro.
