Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas engaged after two months of dating: Reports
Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas are set to tie the knot! A source close to the pair told People that Nick popped the question a week after Priyanka celebrated her 36th birthday in London. The insider states that Nick closed down a Tiffany store in New York City in order to buy the perfect ring for Priyanka.
“They are so happy,” the source said. While the two are yet to confirm the news, a source close to Nick said that he is “very, very happy.” In fact, his happiness is beyond anything his family has ever seen. “His friends and family have never seen him like this, and they’re all really excited for him. He’s definitely very serious about her,” the source added.
Priyanka was supposed to be doing a film with Salman Khan in India and she, however, had to withdraw from it and the media soon got a whiff of their plans. Priyanka's director, Ali Abbas Zafar, for her Bollywood film 'Bharat', tweeted a cryptic message on Twitter on Thursday (July 26) announcing that she will be leaving the film project and hinted that her relationship with Nick might have something to do with it. "Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her ... Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life," he tweeted. Do notice the capital N.
This led the Indian media to believe that Nick and Priyanka might be heading towards the next big step in their life. Priyanka and Nick started dating in May. Over the past few weeks, the two have been spotted together on various occasions. A source tells the magazine that things became serious between the pair after they met each other's families.
First, Priyanka met Nick's family at his cousin Rachel Tamburelli’s wedding in New Jersey on June 9. Nick’s brothers Frankie and Kevin Jonas, who was accompanied by his wife Danielle, as well as their mother Denise and father Kevin Sr were all present at the event. “It’s a huge deal that Nick brought Priyanka to his cousin’s wedding,” a source told the magazine. “He’s dated a lot over the last couple years but it’s never been anything serious, so this is a big step. Nick and Priyanka really like each other, and his family enjoyed getting to know her as well. She fit right in!”
Last month, Priyanka took Nick to India where he met her mother, Madhu. The pair did not stop themselves from sharing pictures of each other on social media while they were on their trip. The pair even attended an Indian wedding.
While the couple has not yet confirmed this news. There is no doubt that Priyanka would love to start a family soon as she previously told the magazine, "I am a very ‘live in the today,’ maximum ‘live in the next two months’ kind of person. But [in] 10 years, I definitely want to have kids. That is, it’s going to happen in the next 10 years. Well, hopefully, earlier than that. I’m very fond of children and I want to be able to do that.”
