Princess Beatrice branded a 'copycat' for imitating Prince Harry and Meghan's black and white engagement photo
Princess Beatrice has been branded a 'copycat' for 'imitating' one of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's black and white engagement pictures.
The 31-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew announced her engagement to property tycoon Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 34, on Thursday. The couple also released official photos to mark the announcement on Instagram.
One of the adorable photographs, a black and white one, shows Beatrice resting her head on Edoardo's shoulder. However, social media users were quick to point out the similarities between this engagement photo and one of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's loved-up engagement photographs from 2017.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's picture showed Meghan lovingly placing a hand on Harry's face.
One fan shared a side by side comparison of the two pictures and commented, "What in the name? I absolutely cannot with this copy cat family." A second social media user-added, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery they say," while a third wrote, "They couldn't even envision a different pose/picture."
The biggest difference between the two beautiful pictures is that Meghan proudly shows off her sparkling ring, while Beatrice seems to have taken hers off for the picture.
Also, Harry and Meghan's engagement picture was clicked by photographer Alexi Lubomirski in the grounds of Frogmore House, and Beatrice's engagement picture was clicked by photographer Misan Harriman at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park.
Edoardo had shared the picture on his Instagram and shared an emotional tribute to his fiance. "You will never be alone my love, my heart is your home. Hand in hand, today, tomorrow and forever," he shared.
It has been reported that the 34-year-old Italian property developer and father-of-one started dating the British royal in October last year. The couple also released a statement and said, "We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to actually be married."
