William and Kate were upset about Harry jokes at BAFTAs, may introduce 'moral clause' in contracts from now on

"They will have a ‘moral clause’ inserted into their acceptance agreement ensuring that due reverence is given to the royal couple who gave their time and support to such a wonderful celebration of film and is respected," according to a media commentator

Although they appeared to have smiled through the jokes made at their family's expense at the BAFTAs (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday night, neither Prince William nor Kate Middleton was apparently prepared for being roasted by Hollywood celebrities.

“The feedback is that many of the stars stepped out of line in front of the patron, which is the Duke of Cambridge,” media commentator Neil Sean told Fox News. “William is a huge supporter of films and spoke openly in his speech about the lack of diversity at the awards.”

Although most of the stars attending the prestigious event stayed mum about both Brexit as well as Megxit and other scandals plaguing England at the moment, there were exceptions, namely,  Brad Pitt and Rebel Wilson, who could not help but bring their own brand of sense of humor to the stage.

Wilson, who took to the stage as a presenter in the “Best Director” category, said: “It is really great to be here at the Royal Andrew… uh, Royal Harry, no, at this royal palace place."

Her jibe drew audible gasps from the audience and when the camera panned around to capture the reaction of the royal couple, they looked visibly uncomfortable by her comment. They did manage to smile, however, when Margot Robbie read out Pitt's comments (as he could not be there to receive his Best Supporting Actor award) which made fun of both Brexit and Megxit.

“Brad couldn’t be here tonight due to family obligations, so he asked me to read his response for him,” Robbie said. “He starts by saying, ‘Hey Britain. Heard you just became single. Welcome to the club! Wishing you the best for the divorce settlement ... He's gonna name this Harry, because he's really excited about bringing it back to the states with him."

The broadcast was also reportedly edited so that there were minimal reaction shots from the royal couple. As a result, it was wholly possible that Pitt's speech was met with the same frowning faces of the royal couple that viewers saw after Wilson's comments.

Sean added that as a precautionary measure to prevent the roasting that took place at the BAFTAs, the royal palace may introduce something called the "moral clause."

"A mole also told me that to ensure that the royals are not embarrassed or made fun of again at such a prestigious event like this one... they will have a ‘moral clause’ inserted into their acceptance agreement ensuring that due reverence is given to the royal couple who gave their time and support to such a wonderful celebration of film and is respected," he said.
